What is call logging?

Call logging is the process of recording details about telephone calls. These call details include:

  1. Caller information: their name and phone number
  2. Recipient information: their name and phone number
  3. Date and time of the call
  4. Call duration
  5. Call status: answered, dropped, or went to voicemail
  6. Call type: incoming, outgoing, or missed
  7. Call recording
Is there an app for call logs?

OpenPhone offers automatic call logging functionality and makes it easy to review call data for small businesses. One advantage OpenPhone has over other VoIP phone providers is its native CRM integrations with HubSpot and Salesforce. Your call logs will automatically sync to your CRM, saving your team hours of manual logging and tracking. 

Can I download my call logs?

Yes, you can download your call logs from your OpenPhone account. Here’s how:

  1. From your workspace menu, select Settings and General.
  2. At the bottom of the Workspace settings section, find the Export your data section. You'll see the list of three types of call data you can export: contacts, call logs, and message logs.
  3. Check the box for each type of data you want to export.
  4. Below the checkboxes, click Export data.

Some things to keep in mind about exporting your call log data:

  1. You must be the workspace owner to export data for your workspace.
  2. Call recordings and transcripts are not included in the data export.
  3. Exported data will be emailed as a .csv file.

What filter options are available with call logs in OpenPhone?

You can filter your OpenPhone call activity by:

  1. Call status: Open, Ended, Unresponded, and Missed calls
  2. Direction: Incoming and Outgoing calls
  3. Date: When a call was logged in your workspace
  4. Team member: Whoever took the call
How long does OpenPhone store call logs?

OpenPhone stores call logs indefinitely unless an OpenPhone customer requests for it to be deleted. When you delete your OpenPhone account, your call logs will also be deleted. 

Additionally, our partner carriers hold onto message data for up to 13 months unless we ask them to delete it.
