Why Ooma customers move to OpenPhone

Hundreds of teams have moved from Ooma to OpenPhone. Here are a few reasons why:

"Ooma was costly, antiquated, and gave me zero visibility into my business. OpenPhone is 1/5th the cost of Ooma for us. It allows me to see how many customer service calls we're receiving everyday, how my reps are handling them, and gives us summaries and transcripts of their conversations."

Why OpenPhone is a better alternative to Ooma

A screen with a list of contacts and a phone number.

The call and text worry-free on every plan

  • Unlimited texting to US & Canada numbers

OpenPhone offers free SMS and MMS messaging to US and Canada numbers in every plan.

Ooma forces businesses to upgrade to a higher tier to access SMS messaging. Even when you upgrade, you’re limited to 250 messages per month (across your account).

  • No limits for toll-free calls

With OpenPhone, you can make and receive as many toll-free calls as you want

Ooma limits toll-free numbers to 500 inbound call minutes per number per month. Once you exceed this limit, you’ll be charged 3.4¢ per minute.

All the phone features your team needs

  • Manage every incoming call smoothly

OpenPhone offers essential phone features like voicemail transcription, on-demand call recording, a desktop app, and more, all on our base plan.

Ooma requires you to upgrade to their more expensive plans to access these features. You can’t even use their desktop app to make calls without upgrading.

  • Access modern texting features

Send SMS auto-replies, snippets, and scheduled messages to communicate with customers using OpenPhone.

Ooma doesn’t offer advanced texting features in its plans.

OpenPhone internal threads - loop your team in by tagging your colleagues next to calls and texts

Collaborate seamlessly with your team

  • Share numbers with team members

OpenPhone's shared numbers help your team split responsibility for incoming calls and texts.

Ooma only offers shared external lines on their most expensive plan.

  • Assign follow up tasks in real time

With OpenPhone’s internal threads, team members can troubleshoot issues and assign follow-ups to colleagues in real time.

Ooma doesn’t have internal threads and internal team chat is only available on its most expensive plan.
